Filming - Hemswell Cliff 5

This is our second shoot since the beginning of filming which has had difficulties in certain places, for example, people not being able to make it and a fire at the factory during a filming session.

Steve, Hollie and I were able to make it but Alex had a family matter so she was unable to attend which made us unable to do the band safe shot.

Even though we couldn't do the band safe shot which will be filmed on the platform, we were able to film Hollie's and my individual shots. I arrived first so we went over to the field and filmed a few angles of me with Mollie (the extra) helping out with the music station so I could sing along with it.

We then recieved a phone call from Steve saying that he had arrived at Stef's house, so we told him where we were and he soon arrived with Hollie our drummer.

After we had completed my shots we then decided to get my shots done with Steve so we could get my shots done for that day. Although we got this done i will be reshooting my part as Stef asked me to put a bit more energy into my performance.

After I left, Hollie, Mollie, Steve, and Stef went over to Mollie's house to get her drum kit so that we could transport it over to the market for Hollie's individual shots. It took us about half an hour to dismantle, take the drum kit over to the market, and put it back together correctly.

For Hollie to perform the drum piece, she needed to hear the music to keep in time with it, so they placed an iPod and speakers behind her and asked Mollie to stay near it. We then made sure that Mollie wasn't going to be seen in the shot so we made sure she was positioned behind the drum kit and out of shot.

While shooting Hollie's shots, two problems occured. First of all, part of the bass pedal flew up and hit Hollie in the knee so we paused the camera so she could put it together. Secondly, the wind started to pick up and part of the cymbal blew off as we were filming her and she was playing. We stopped the camera for a moment so we could put the cymbal back together and we could continue the shoot.

When Hollie was finished, we decided between the four of us that Hollie and Mollie should stay with the drum kit while we filmed Steve in a separate location for his part as the guitarist but when we started the camera and then the music, Steve realised that there were two guitars in the track, the lead and the rhythm, so we stopped the camera and we discussed which one he was going to play and he decided on doing the lead guitar, meaning we may need someone else to perform the rhythm guitar.

We decided to allow Steve more time to practice his part so we returned to Mollie and Hollie and started to dismantle the drum kit and take it back over to Mollie's.

One problem we may encounter on a later shooting date is the lack of tape due to the amount we have shot so we have enough choice for our final piece.

Filming - Hemswell Cliff 4

We were hoping to film today with the entire band to get our safe shot and other individual shots so we could complete the filming but, due to the fire at our filming location that took place yesterday we decicded to check out the location to see if we would be able to continue filming but, we decided that is was unsafe to film as there was clearly smoke still coming from where the fire had took place so unfortunately filming was postponed.

Filming - Hemswell Cliff 3

Setting up of the camera

This is the first date we have been able to do shooting of the band

The band were meant to be present, but due to problems with Hollie Heron-Stamp's family, she was unable to turn up and therefore unable to bring Steve Ward, so he was unable to attend also. Due to transport issues I was also unable to turn up.

Although not all the band could make it, Alex Dodds was able to film part of her role in our piece. We shot Alex playing her bass through out the song from different angles; one of her face, one of her entire body, one of the body of her bass and her playing it, and one down her fretboard so we can see her playing.

While filming, one of the hangers caught fire behind Alex and the black smoke ended up in one of the shots which could be used to reflect the mood of the Drew characterher, her relationship has gone up in smoke.

Digipak Ideas

This is the first idea we had for our digipak cover. Its plain and simple, it clearly shows the name of the band and what the name of the album is. I think to improve this idea is to add a little more detail and possibly colour.

This idea is an improvement to the first idea, but i think a little more could be added as it is still one colour and I think more colours would help the cover to stand out and catch attention.

I think this idea is the best so far (excuse the pun). This is because more colours have been added to it and immediately it makes the image bolder than the other two.

This idea by far is my favourite. I love the use of all the different colours and the style of the image. I like how the phrase "best so far" is repeated all over the image.
