Before we made any text for the course we researched our target audience by giving out a questionnaire. We gave this out to a specific age group of 17 to 18 years old. Their responses told us what they might expect in the texts we were going to produce.
Form this we were able to decide how much we were going to satisfy the audiences expectations and how much we intended to challenge them. We decided to accept what they expected of us and make our texts of a satisfactory level of our target audience.
For the screening of our music video we made some invitations and gave them to our friends but the same amount of boys and girls. Obviously we invited the cast that took part in our video because they asked if they could see the finished production.
For the invitation we had the information about when and where the screening would be taking part and as a background picture we had a sill shot of one of the practise performances we had.
There wasn’t really a set arrangement at the screening of our video, we just asked that the people stayed after the viewing so that could fill out a questionnaire we had made about our production. We also made sure that we didn’t talk to anyone while the video was playing because we wanted them to focus their full attention to what was going on in the video.
The responses we got back from our questionnaires over all was very positive, most of the rating we got from our audience was 3 out of 4 which is very good so our average was about 3.8.
Some quotes were positive and some quotes were not necessarily negative but, constructive criticism.
Research into CD covers, we decided we should have the normal style of having the band on the frontcover. We felt this would attract people to buy the album. We wanted to portray a young audience in the front cover which was our aim throughout the whole course for our target audience.
For our magazine advert we wanted the band name and the album name in the centre of the actual advert, obviously to stand out, then the release date and the rest of the information at the bottom. we decided to have a completly differnt style magazine advert so that it stood out from other adverts.
